Top 10 Smallest jet planes

The smallest jet airplanes are so tiny that it’s difficult to compile a decent list of them. We should immediately dismiss those models that were only created as prototypes with just two or three flights. Those whose production ended long ago are also not suitable. But even after such a “cleanup,” the list of the smallest jet airplanes is still not simple. Just consider, though it’s hard to imagine, but the top spots on our list are single-seat jet planes, and the leader… well, let’s go in order.

Jetpack Wingsuit Jetpack Wingsuit According to Wikipedia, an airplane is an aircraft that is heavier than air, designed for flight in the atmosphere using an engine that generates thrust and a wing that creates lift. So technically, the Jetpack Wingsuit is an airplane—it has fixed wings, actually two of them. The fact that both can fit in a car trunk is secondary. The main point is that you could fly over the Alps, for example, in such a “plane.”

Cri-Cri MC-15J – 78 kg Cri-Cri MC-15J You won’t believe it, but you don’t even need a license to operate this plane. Nevertheless, comparing it to a bicycle would be inappropriate. The “Cricket” can reach a cruising speed of up to 180 km/h, carry a load of 92 kg, and even perform aerobatic maneuvers.

Microturbo FLS Microjet – 190 kg Microturbo FLS Microjet The Microturbo FLS Microjet is the brainchild of the genius aircraft designer Bede, who previously developed the BD5J. The new model turned out to be quite capable (with a payload of up to 200 kg) and durable (flight time up to 2.5 hours). Flight speed reaches up to 250 km/h!

BD5J – 194 kg BD5J This is the “old-timer” of our list, which, nonetheless, is still successfully supplied as a kit for… self-assembly! After spending just 600-800 hours in the garage, you will get a light, easy-to-handle plane that is almost on par with modern models!

Sonex Subsonex JSX-1 – 226.5 kg Sonex Subsonex JSX-1 This ultralight and ultra-cheap jet plane is priced comparable to a mid-range car. It is also sold in basic kits that can be significantly upgraded, following the best traditions of vehicle customization. Quite charming!

ONE Aviation Eclipse 550 – 1,610 kg ONE Aviation Eclipse 550 A sharp jump, and we are already in the light business jet class. These jets can carry several people onboard, but are still small enough to take off from private airfields and do not require a large flight crew. The ONE Aviation Eclipse 550 is the brainchild of Eclipse Aerospace.

Cirrus Vision SF50 – 1,681 kg Cirrus Vision SF50 This plane can carry up to five adults almost 2,000 kilometers—no joke. Just like its cruising speed of 610 km/h. One of the most successful business jet models, as confirmed by the long-term order book.

Cessna CitationJet M2 – 3,171 kg Cessna CitationJet М2 Cessna light aircraft are well-known, but the company started developing turboprop planes quite some time ago. This is a class of business jets that allows several passengers to comfortably fly from place to place. A large runway is not required for this either—one kilometer is enough.

Embraer Phenom 100 – 3,235 kg Embraer Phenom 100 The microjet class is limited to just a few passengers, and the Embraer Phenom 100 can carry 7 people or up to 1.5 tons of cargo. This aircraft is made in Brazil.

Honda HA-420 HondaJet – 3,268 kg Honda HA-420 HondaJet Yes, Honda also produces small jet planes. It slightly lags in speed compared to other business models (only 477 km/h), but the flight range is standard (up to 2,000 km), and the “ceiling” is 13 km. Moreover, Honda has made significant efforts to reduce engine noise, which is, you must admit, pleasant. Top 10 Smallest Helicopters
